Sweet Summer Special
What’s this? A wine worth an entire week’s blog post?! Oh yes, and there is a great deal on it, too. In the past, I’ve done a post on Viognier, one of the Irwin parental units favorite white varietals, highlighting its versatility. The wine I am happy to introduce you to is the Emery Estate 2010 Viognier. Wait a minute…it doesn’t say Naggiar. Not to fear, the label may say Emery, but the grapes are 100% Naggiar. Hand crafted by winemaker-husband Derek Irwin from Naggiar Vineyards grapes that were purchased for the Emery Estate, this wine was designed to challenge the Napa Valley Viogniers that are taking the restaurant scene by storm.
Being that Viognier is one of the most versatile white grapes, both from a winemaking and a food-pairing aspect, this wine is an awesome way to kick off the summer season. The Emery Estate Viognier has a marmalade, preserved fruit character in the nose and a slightly nutty finish. Thinking of a spicy lunch or dinner, something that would normally pair with a Gewurtzraminer or maybe a Chardonnay? This Viognier is the perfect stand-in. Recently, we tried it with a cheese platter , followed by some curried Thai and Caribbean food, and it paired very well.
Interested? It’s available by the case, only because we are sure you’ll want a sufficient supply of this summer’s “go-to” wine. Wine Club Member price is $84/case and non-members will pay $108/case. That’s only $7/bottle for wine club members and $9/bottle for non-members…you can’t go wring with this deal on a wine that has a suggested retail price of $18. To pick up your case, stop by the Tasting Room or call the office at 530-268-9059. This offer is good while supplies last in the month of June and no other discounts apply. Time’s a ticking, so start ordering!
This sweet summer special is a great way to start your summer off with a Bang!
*as this is a close-out special, we have a no-return policy for this deal- not that you would want to…
