Root 49!
As we journey from the last days of summer into fall, our 2017 Root 49 “The Red” is the perfect transitional wine. Predominantly Syrah, Tempranillo, and Malbec, “The Red” is a true northern Sierra Foothills red blend. The fruit was picked in early October, fermented spontaneously, with an extended maceration of 14 days and then aged in neutral American and French Oak barrels for 14 months. “The Red” exhibits massive amounts of blackberry, strawberry, black pepper, plum, and mocha flavors and aromas. Nice acidity, moderate tannins, and a big mid-palate make this a favorite for both drinking on its own or pairing with any grilled meats, bacon burgers, or pizza.
